When a tree limb falls in the icy woods...
and it hits you in the head -- it hurts! Nevertheless, Cam, the intripid photographer, risked life and (human) limb to wander underneath the trees at the start of the icestorm. I hope there aren't too many branches that fall during the night! (P.S.: only twigs and small branches were falling as the sunset.)

We're getting a lot of snow in Santa Fe. I think the beautiful photos you've taken describe this time of year so well... lovely.
LOVE the photos of ice - for some reason they make me feel thirsty! It's a good reminder of what we are headed for here in the Southern hemisphere. Very beautiful.

Dorothy -- I find them amazing too. Although I'm glad that I didn't have to drive in it or deal with damage to house & trees, I was a little disappointed when I woke up the next day to find that most of the storm had bypassed where I live.

Ever since the huge storm of 1998 that I survived in Montreal, seeing the words ICE and STORM in the same sentence gives me shivers. But Dorothy is right, it is beautiful as well, and these pictures are amazing.
