Coast: After a Storm (Photo Friday)

This week's Photo Friday Challenge is "Coast".  I shot the following on the Gulf Coast, following a storm in January, 2010.   Amazing what creatures from another world the tide can toss ashore.

These are nice pictures, Cam. I like the gulls apparently finding a feast in what the storm has washed up for them. This chaos and destruction must have been a good day for them.

Wonderful photos! It makes me want to go to the beach (which is lucky because it's just down the road!)

Lovely! Whats the orange thing? Is it a pebble, a shell or a fruit?

Thanks for the comments. Naresh, I have no idea what the orange think is. I've tried various things to identify online but so far, have not been able to. It's about the size of a tennis ball, but flattened. It really is as orange as seen in the photo. The leaf just happened to be ontop of it. Like the objects in the last photo (both the white and the black blob), it appears to be gelatenous. While I don't know what this is, this isn't the first time that I've seen these washed ashore in SW Florida. If anybody knows what it is, please let me know!
